Super Mario bros Z ep.8

"You know..."

date: October 13, 2009

I really dig how you've turned the series. It's actually really great, I love it.

There's a lot to review, so let's get to it XD

First off, I love your title screen. It's a really great look compared to the other episodes, it adds some nice originality, and the remixed "Super Mario Bros." music goes really well. Props for that one too.

One thing that immeadiatly stuck out to me, were the custom drawn graphics, those were placed perfectly and really sparked up the intensity of the episode, the only thing i'd probably go with is maybe separate them a bit better, it seemed rushed at times to just throw them in there. But as said, I personally, found them VERY impressive.

Another thing I quite enjoyed was the balance of Story, and fighting. As Super Mario Bros. Z is most popular for the fight scenes, it caused fans to get a bit tense with the last episode with the really long back story (That doesn't seem to have anything to do anymore...?), and thus create a bit of ill feelings. But in this episode, I found you hit it right on the mark. I love how you actually put in a rather interesting plot, and the way you ended this episode REALLY got me thinking. Actually, now that I think on it, I kinda got an idea as to what may happen! El woot-nay! XD

I really like all of the references you've placed throughout the series, it really appeals to me how all games from both series's play a semi-role in all of the episodes. Poison Mushrooms, super forms, weapons, their locations, as well as the characters own personalities sort of kick in. One thing that kinda irked me was how you kinda go TOO into some of the plot details. Like Sonic's speech to Shadow, I found that went on slightly too long, and may also have irked the fans a bit.

...Oh yeah! I do like the input of the beginning "Last time on Super Mario bros. Z!" text scroll. It definantly gives it a "Dragon Ball Z" feel, however I felt you could've linked up the Episode Title music a bit better with the "Last Time" music, just adjust the scroll speed to try to linkn it up a bit smoother XD

And before I forget, the 3-D designs were pretty well done, the only thing I think maybe could use some improvement is... uh... how to explain it... Size and Shadows? Yeah, the Ship often felt smaller than it actually is. Like, sometimes the hills look bigger than the ship itself, while when it closed in on Bowser sitting (At the beginning), it felt the ship was tiny, then gradually grew. It really was an amazing attempt, I must admit, but I just felt like giving a little feedback ^ ^;

Hmm... anything left out...?

Yeah! The minor details! I adored that about your recent episodes! The little things you include that make everything go a bit better, or appeal more than usual. Like Mario's facial expression when he finds the note while reading, the Curious expression, with the serious ones transitioned perfectly, as well as all the Sprite improvements (I felt the sprite's colors were a bit more vibrant than before). And the scenery/backgrounds looked astounding, especially on the ship. It really impressed me as to the amount of effort seen through this whole episode, and definantly worth all of the wait.

I'm pretty sure i'm forgetting something, but i'll probably write it down and include it for the next episode.

Overall, this episode blew my mind, from the Fire Flower Sonic, to the Story's intensity, it's a 5/5 and a 10/10 from me.

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT rush on the next episode! Take your time and produce astounding work like you've come to be known for! All of your episodes are so worth the wait, and more!

Hope to see more!

The Facebook Problem

"Very, very nice!"

date: October 7, 2009

First of all, congratulations on front page and all of your awards, you really earned them! This was an amazing flash with tons of detail (Which i'm focusing on in this review) that's really worth mentioning.

The beginning starts out perfect. It sets a mood everyone can get used to. Children playing, wierd long tongued couples making out, the Sun is smiling, all perfectly tied together with a lady walking her dog, and a biker biking. +1 for great mood.

The transition to the car was super well done, and again, the details with the Phone's alarm very well played out. Sound effects were especially good here. The change in music and mood was excellent as well. The music slowed down, and then the black screen and the hilariously well placed "OHHHHH SHIIIITTT!!!" put in a hilarious statement attracting the audience's attention to what'll play out after the long massacre of pedestrians.

Again, the sound effects and music played a huge role and again, were well used to show this car scene's outcome. The only real issue (And the only reason i'm bringing it up is because of how big you were on details) is the dialog "You has a Message"; you flipped it over when you looked at the phone from the opposite side. Rather than just increase the size on the side closest to it. A small detail, but one easily overlooked.

Next would be Jim's untimely demise, another well played scene with great drama and execution. The details in the art, and especially the intrails made this scene really dramatic and serious looking, yet the stereotypical "Come closer" prepares the viewer for the obviously funny Facebook part as the title leads you to believe, but you played us and made the scene even better with an unexpected twist of "Hold these"; and that's definantly a plus in my book xD

The voice acting here was really well done, and emotion could clearly be seen here. I also liked how the emotion all of the faces were really well animated too, as well as lip syncing. As for the sound effects here, you can guess how it all came out ;).

As for the negative parts (Detail missed) of this scene, you drew the cop's gun backwards XD

And finally, the Facebook page. Here's where your attention to details really showed. All the buttons had something to offer, and not everything could be caught with simply one view. The "View photos of my ass (6000)" and the "Rape" tag, as well as all the comments made everything work so well. The only complaint I have for that scene is the update times (Another small detail overlooked). In the beginning you started changing the update times with every update, for the realistic look. However, you stopped this near the end making everything say "3 Seconds" rather than changing them originally (3 Seconds, changed to 24 Seconds, then to 1 Minute, etc.) Another small detail overlooked, as said XD

Overall, everything was amazing! With only a small few detailed errors, everything came out smoothly, all the jokes executed wonderfully, and the point which was trying to be made, was clear. You, my friend, have just created a masterpiece!

You get a 5/5 and a 10/10 from me, great work!

Current Score: 4.54 / 5.00 (Unfortunantly I had to refresh after watching it this morning, so I don't know how much my vote affected this XD)

I look forward to future submissions!

Sonic And Shadow Vs Nazo

"Actually..."

date: September 16, 2009

It wasn't bad. Sure it was a bit slow, and the dialogue could use some fixing up, but overall not bad.

Some specifics you could work on are your timings. Try to make the flash flow a bit more smoothly. What I mean is for what you're aiming for, try to go frame by frame and make things run a bit more fast paced and make it come together a bit more clearly. And example would be where Nazo punched Super Sonic, he just sat there for a few seconds, then jumped back, and sat there a few more seconds. Try to fix that up a bit.

The ending is promising, sure there are too many forms shown for one episode, but i'm sure you're trying to fix it up. I'll be watching!

Temple of Time to Dance

"This is a great mix!"

date: January 10, 2009

Overall the song is great, only thing is, the main Temple of Time sound is too low, and often overpowered by the rest of the melody, so all you hear is the techno... which defeats the point of a remix...

The sound is great, and the title is clever =P

I do like this and it does do it's job of making you move XP

I give it a 5/5 and a 9/10 =)

Tetris Reorchestrated

"Really nice!"

date: December 24, 2008

This is an amazing song, and i'm thourogly impressed with how you did this.

One thing, though, is I think it repeats itself one too many times near 1:40 seconds. (I could be wrong.) I liked the violins, though they seem a bit strong at times. The chorus in the background was spot on; and a really great addition to the mix. The only real complaint I truely have, is the ending. It seemed a bit... off... in my opinion. It went and cut itself off, then went on, and the instrement choice for it made it confusing to follow. But it's not something that would bother most people, just something a picky listener might complain about XD

Overall, a 9/10 and a 5/5. I love all of your work, and you are really great at creating music.

Geno's Underwood {Psy-nigma}

"I already noticed differences"

date: December 24, 2008

First off, thanks for the PM =) Glad to be able to review your newest addition and update =D

You made a WHOLE better transition in the beginning, then around 1:00 it starts to pick up a beat which makes you want to move. I also like the new add-on at 1:53 where it starts to add an echo. Really catchy.

I also like the keep of the "Galatic Guitar" XD Really adds depth to the overall rythm (Spell?) Then at 3:38 you toned down and made a soothing ending to finish it all off.

I wish I could've made a better review, but the other guys beat me to all the possible things to address and compliment XD

Well, it's a 5/5 and a 10/10 from me. You've vastly improved, and this thing is immeadiatly faved. =) Good job and I do hope to hear more things you've created!

Thanks for the second Listen to the Re-mastered re-mix!
I have to thank you for stepping up in the first review to let me know truly what you thought of the galactic guitar and all. you sparked my interest to finally finish this song in the epic way it is supposed to sound.

I will let you know when my next remix comes out but right now I am trying to find a fun song to work on while I work in my other studio projects.
